It's the moment so many of you have been waiting for...a glimpse of our new hardwood floors! Jason and his dad spent an entire weekend getting the living room and kitchen done, and then Jason tackled the computer room/toy room on his own. While all the baseboards were down, Jason and I decided to repaint our formerly forest green rooms a lovely shade of brown. And then just a couple weeks ago, Jason's parents came out to help with some of the final details: painting doors and trim, cutting and installing baseboards and quarter-rounds, installing a new kitchen ceiling fan...that sort of thing. The end result? Well, we absolutely love it!

Wow! It looks great!! Thanks to Jason and his folks for all their hard work. We enjoyed spending last night and today with the Boughtons--later this evening with Lisa & Jeremy. We love you all. Sorry we got behind on the birthdays this year. Don't give up on us!

We were privileged to see these new floors in person (during our very enjoyable dinner visit which I unfortunately and regrettably failed to mention in my own recent blog post due to the intense pressure of my looming deadline) and they look even better in real life!
